DRIVing Change. CREATING DRIVERS.
Only 34% of those with autism without intellectual disability earn a driver’s license; compared to 83% of teens without autism.
NASCAR driver Austin Varco seeks to inspire those living with autism to learn driving.
OUR DRIVER
Austin Varco was 21 years old when he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. He also drove go-karts shortly after learning to walk. Ever since, he has been on a tear to the highest levels of racing in the world as an openly-diagnosed autistic driver.
Today, he races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series, using every lap as an opportunity to show those affected by autism that anything is possible.
OUR mission
Race4Autism began as a way to introduce motorsports to families affected by autism in a sensory-safe way. What it is now is so much more: helping thousands with autism get excited about driving, ultimately to help those with autism achieve independence.
Imagine learning driving in a professional simulator from a NASCAR driver!
